While I think the author did a good job paralleling the details of the Bible account into this novel and I thought it was a nice feel-good story, I did not love it. I thought it was predictable (I should have guessed that) and sweet but not compelling.
It did generate some interesting dinner conversation at our house. Alex recently had an unusual dream. The occurance in his dream actually happened a week or so later--not to him, but to his dad! I was telling Alex about when I was in college writing computer programs. Often when they didn't work correctly, I would dream about them and in my dreams I would fix the coding problems. When I would go to school the next morning I was usually able to fix the programs. Of course, then we talked about the crazy dream I had (one of many, actually) when some dear friends of ours lived with us and stole all our belongings.
Now I have that "Any dream will do..." song stuck in my head. Sweet dreams!
