She also seems to have a knack for solving murders. If you haven't read any of these books by Alan Bradley each is a fast and fun read. She has a bicycle named Gladys. She has two older sisters who torment her mercilessly. The author, Alan Bradley, was 70 years old when he wrote the first Flavia mystery. I cannot believe how quickly he is turning out this series.

I would have to agree that Flavia is my favorite mystery solver. The author has the unique ability to write from a precocious eleven year olds perspective. As an author, I know how difficult this can be.

AuthorMy name is Elizabeth. I love to read. In college I took speed reading and kept a list of everything I read (I wish I could find that list!). As a teen I would read under the blankets half the night. As a child I first patronized the book mobile and later read entire sections of books from the school library. Now, with dozens of books on my "want to read" list, I tend to doze off if I read at night and I am usually in the middle of several books at one time. Archives
