After posting Sixpence (see below) I was reviewing my book blog and couldn't believe I hadn't posted anything since April 10th. I knew I must have read something inbetween. Then I remembered that I read Maisie Dobbs in March or April. Jan recommended this book. I loved it! Maisie is a young woman in England after WWI. She had a unique and interesting upbringing and education. Then she served as a nurse in France during the war. The novel is about her first case as a private detective of sorts. Fun book.

The Maise Dobbs books by Jacqueline Winspear consist of seven books so far, with the latest published in March of 2012. I also loved reading them and tackled them in the order she wrote them since characters reappear in each book and their lives and developments make more sense if read in order. I highly recommend each of them.

AuthorMy name is Elizabeth. I love to read. In college I took speed reading and kept a list of everything I read (I wish I could find that list!). As a teen I would read under the blankets half the night. As a child I first patronized the book mobile and later read entire sections of books from the school library. Now, with dozens of books on my "want to read" list, I tend to doze off if I read at night and I am usually in the middle of several books at one time. Archives
